Day 10. Thanks mom and dad :)

I’m hoping that this is the start of making the “one a day” project more personal. I feel as though I’m in the midst of making yet another transition in my life, which always tends to create a reflective atmosphere. So here goes.

People in our lives are the anchors that keep us who we are and the catalysts that change us. They keep us from drifting, while nudging us along to new discoveries. It’s no surprise, then, that my memory is full of people who have, in one way or another, brought me to where I am now. And every step of the way, my parents have been with me, in agreement or disagreement. Of course, there is that rather irritating tendency of realizing that parents are right in hindsight after all :)  Looking back, my relationship with my parents has changed so much and not at all. But what has changed is good, and the stuff that’s remained constant is even better. It’s paradoxical, and it’s wonderful.

Thanks mom, thanks dad. This is for you.
